Got any questions ?

If you have any questions that our developers'FAQ doesn't answer (on the right), feel free to contact us.

Questions you may ask yourself

  1. Do I have to sign a contract? Yes. Before you can set up your shop, and start selling on SoftCity, you have to sign our online contract. This contract defines relations among you, the customers and SoftCity. Once it's accepted, you can immediately submit your software.

  2. Any fees I should know about? No. There are no fees to sell your software on softcity.com We keep a commission on all sales. The level of the commission depends on your developer' status, which can range from No Rating to Platinum.

  3. How are the transactions processed? Customers buy software in a secured mode on softcity.com, with a credit card or paypal account. SoftCity then pays developers and affiliates through a Paypal account. Payments are made monthly.

  4. When do I get my money? Every month, on the 25th, we add up all the money you made from sales and affiliations. If the amount is over $100 (US dollars), the money is transferred to your Paypal account. No payment under $100 (US dollars) will be made. Instead, the money will be transferred to the following month, until it reaches $100 (US dollars), and it is transferred to your Paypal account.

  5. Who pays for the discounts provided by the SoftDollars? All discounts are shared between SoftCity and developers. For each sale, we calculate SoftCity's commission, the affiliate commission and your earnings, based on the net amount we receive.

  6. Do I have access to my buyers' account details? Sure. Your developer' profile gives you access to a full range of statistics, including all earnings, payments, etc.

  7. Do I have to pay SoftCity for Software sold through my own website? No. The SoftCity Marketplace is a source of supplementary income for you. All sales made through your own website completely belong to you. We are not monitoring anything outside SoftCity.

  8. If I am a Marketplace developer, can I still sell my software on other selling platforms? Of course. Our contract is not at all exclusive. You are free to continue or start selling on any other selling platforms.

  9. Do I need to pay to update my store? No. In the SoftCity Marketplace, you are responsible for updating your store, but you don't have to pay anything. If you need help, we will help you, and it's free.

  10. How do I close my store? We hope you will never do so (what a crazy idea!) However, if you want to, closing your SoftCity store is easy. All you need to do is remove all your software from the catalog, which takes 2 clicks per title.
